Let's
face it, growth is a sign of life. The opposite of growth is the opposite
of life. From our humble beginnings in 1982 as a small shop, I would have
considered myself fully staffed if I had someone to help answer the phones
and sweep, and an assistant to help me fix some cars. Today, if I don't have
seven full time technicians, one full time service writer, a bookkeeper, an
accountant on call, and a computer consultant, I'd have to turn some customers
away. Talk about frustrating!
But growth is a sign of life, so it sometimes comes down to stepping up or staying frustrated. The cities are doing it, the racers are doing it, Bandimere is doing it, and so are we. In order to better serve our growingcustomer base, we are installing two chassis dynos. One dyno will primarily serve our largest customer base, the everyday driver (i.e., cars, trucks, RV's and hot rods; the transportation imports, SUV's, sportscars and luxury cruisers that need help with driveability and emission repairs, and a host of other normal maintenance and heavy repairs and wholesale customers). (Many garages send us a lot of work that keeps us busy.)
The other dyno will be a horsepower monster, the like of which has never been seen in Colorado. It will allow us to research and develop, and refine and perfect all of our innovation efforts and tuning methods. I am grateful and encouraged by all of the response and increases that these articles have brought, and it has inspired me to step up.
This shop has provided me two of the nicest gifts. One is the ability to learn more about something I love, and that is racing and horsepower, and the other is the ability to put into practice and share what I have learned with others. After I make the "step-up" moves that I intend to make, I will need to stay fully staffed and probably increase my staff size. Please give me your feedback.
